4. Proximity

Move related information closely together (in close proximity to each other)

 

Example of a web page where the elements of the page are spread out too far from each other. People who are new to design are typically afraid to put things close together. They try to "fill the page". Unfortunately, this leads to a web page design that looks dis-jointed and hard to identify the key ideas.
